necklaces, necklaces

i am in this phase where i want to knit necklaces. i made another lace necklace in variegated grey black and white yarn.

i then made the rusty brown and light green lariat, it's double wound here around the neck. i want to make one in another color that is maybe not leaves related.

i love this white necklace with the silver lined beads at the end of the leaves. the choice of yarn pleases me, it's a white cotton yarn that comes with a silk silver color thread that's bouclé and a silk golden bouclé one.

when a "peluche" models your hat

i just got my first ever knit.1 issue in the mailbox and it had a soccer ball by eve at needles exchange and her blog took me to pink lizzie's blog that had a hat modeled on a ??? yes! on a "peluche", simba modeled my "Oneskein" toddler hat, her hat is modeled by an elephant.

white lace necklace

as i was dressed up to go to our valentine dinner, i thought of taking a photo of the white lace necklace. over the black T doesn't it look like those french "femmes de chambre" attires american guys are so excited about? the apron is missing but it would have been out of the frame anyway.

"Oneskein" cupcake - Yumy kiki

i knit a cupcake from "Oneskein" for Chris as a valentine present. gave it to him at the restaurant at dessert time. i don't think he "got it", he just went on to plush it, tried to open the topping "lid", searching for something to do with it.
luckily, he did get a heart box he could open, it's got rolled love messages for 365 days from the link for hearts, down below; this one he "got".
i think i want to make more cupcakes and get fancy yarn for the topping. i do hate fancy yarn but it does seem the appropriate yarn to use for the topping over the more quiet mohair wool blend.

laced up bobbles belt

this belt is an idea of mine combining the idea of a corset belt with that of a leather ostrich skin one, so it just had to be light brown with a bobbled texture. i chose this satin ribbon color i love so much, it's a bronze color brown and looks so cool really with almost all my yarn colors so far, so it's like my passe-partout or signature ribbon color so far.

arm and leg warmers

i love arm warmers alone with short sleeves in the winter if tight like these, and as an additional layer when it's colder, and also to brighten up an otherwise neutral color sweater. i also love leg warmers, they feel so good. here are some examples of colors and textures that i make them with.

fetching and zigzag in red

i gathered my red stash to knit the knitty fetching fingerless gloves and a zigzag scarf.
notice how the red blends into the dark wine. those were two projects about technique and i enjoyed making them.

"OneSkein" baby hat on maxime

trying it out on our baby simba first

we went to see maxime, my newborn nephew. i had knit him a hat from "OneSkein" by Leigh Radford so here is him modeling it. he looks like some mushroom i think, very "organic", he makes me laugh.

dario's hat

i met with dario today finally to give him his hat and sweater. he was so cute that i just had to take a photo. he's looking intensly at his new sweater. he liked the hat so much that he kept it on.

skulls and cross bones cotton candied

i had fell this alpaca filatura grossa by chance and loved both the color and the mesh texture, bought the dark pink matte shell four buttons in view of making a front buttoned sweater. then i fell on a lace pattern meant to run on a table, knit in white cotton and that was it, i had to make that. so i chose three horizontal bands and three skulls in hight, perfect. i changed my mind about breaking the pattern with a front closure and use the holes on the shoulders for buttoning up.
i still had to chose a matching yarn for the sleeves and i think the offwhhite and bonbon pure silk from debbie bliss does it. i really knit my sleeves till i was out of yarn, i just had enough silk left to sew the buttons. i am glad i picked up a darker pink in matt, it does add a spark to the whole thing.

dario's sweater

i took dario's measurements to make him this sweater, it just had to be body hugging to show off his fine tall muscular figure. he wanted something soft to wear on the skin, we chose alpaca silk from debbie bliss. there is a slit in the back where the matte black shell button is. i was so excited all along, i had written down all his measurements carefuly and was to work accordingly, quite a challenge. i am sure he will look smashing in it. thank you dario for modeling my sweater.
